CD Projekt is also working on a brand new series of games.
CD Projekt was in the talkative corner on Tuesday. Alongside announcing a sequel to Cyberpunk 2077, the developer also shared details about three new The Witcher games.
The first of these is the big game that was officially announced earlier this year. This goes under the working title Polaris, and marks the start of a new saga in the Witcher universe. The developer revealed on Tuesday that Polaris will be the first game in a planned trilogy, but for now we don’t know anything about what it will be about.
Last on The Witcher list is Sirius – another code name – which is being developed by The Flame in the Flood studio The Molasses Flood. According to CD Projekt, the game will consist of both a story-based single player campaign and an as yet unspecified multiplayer part.
Neither game has been given a date or platform details.
Finally, CD Projekt RED unveiled a brand new series, tentatively called Hadar. Early work on the series began last year, but the developer clarified that a game is not actively being worked on yet.
It is important to understand that we are not making a game quite yet. We are working on the foundations of this new setting, explained board member Michal Nowakowski.
Hadar will be the third series from CD Projekt RED, and joins the list that already includes The Witcher and Cyberpunk 2077.
Elsewhere, CD Projekt co-founder Marcin Iwiński told that he is stepping down as co-head of the company at the end of 2022. In a statement, Iwiński explains that he will still be involved with the company, but that he is now starting a new chapter after almost 30 years at the top.
