Still a few months away from the fourth season of The Witcher, but in familiar style, Netflix has so much faith in the continued success that they are already confirming we will get even more. So something far more surprising is happening at the same time.
Netflix has confirmed that The Witcher will get a fourth season, but Henry Cavill will not be returning as Geralt of Rivia. Instead, Liam Hemsworth takes over the lead role. Fortunately, it doesn’t seem like the switch is due to any strong disagreements or anything, as Cavill says a fond farewell to the character on Instagram. Maybe it’s just the return as Superman or a full schedule. In any case, we will see a new Geralt in 2025 or something.
- My time as Geralt of Rivia has been filled with both monsters and adventure, and unfortunately, I will be putting down my medallion and swords for season 4. Stepping in for me is the amazing Liam Hemsworth, who takes on the role of The White Wolf, he said.
Those 2 had just good things to say to eachother in a Instagram post
Exactly why Cavill is quitting is not clear from either announcement. It is true that he has recently resumed the role of Superman in the DC Comics film universe, where he will potentially be busy with several upcoming films.
